A unique opportunity to visit and experience working with Central Australian Aboriginal Congress -

3 - day work experience program

CATSINaM is thrilled to announce a collaboration with the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress). Together CATSINaM and Congress are seeking expressions of interest from third year nursing or midwifery students to participate in a 3-day work experience program with Congress in December 2018.

Come to our Place

Come to Mparntwe (Alice Springs) – home of the Arrernte People, a welcoming community rich in history and culture.

Central Australia offers a unique and unforgettable experience. You’ll be in awe from the moment you arrive. Mparntwe is enveloped by the breathtaking MacDonnell Ranges – powerful ridges that tower over the endless desert landscape. Distant horizons are contrasted by crisp, clear blue skies almost every day of the year. No wonder the locals are so happy and friendly.

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (Congress) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service with over 45 years’ experience in providing comprehensive primary health care to Aboriginal people living in Central Australia. We are one of the most experienced Aboriginal primary health care services in the country, a strong political advocate of closing the gap on Aboriginal health disadvantage and a national leader in improving health outcomes for all Aboriginal people.

While undertaking a 3 day work experience with us, you will gain insight into the services we provide and gain an understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in the field. You will be guided by local Aboriginal staff through some significant Aboriginal sites around Mparntwe. You will also spend time at one of our multiple town clinics and visit one of the remote communities we service, allowing you to see first-hand how we are working towards closing the gap in health inequality.

So, what are you waiting for? Complete this application to register your interest now. Applications close 13 November 2018
